Just Like Me

Here is a character capturing self portrait I did yesterday as a digital painting exercise.

This is exactly what I look like and to say otherwise would be a lie.

Ay third dimension...

Tonight I did a quick 3 dimensional scene based off of one of my recent MSPaint works.
Here is the origonal:

And here are the resulting souless renders:

Plainly lit.

With a funky background and bright tree

Under the chin

The 'nitty gritty'.

Holden Model

So I am attempting to get back into 3D graphics, and my modeling is quite rusty (to be generous), So today I attempted to do a model based off of the main character of my last music video, Holden.

More like 'slopology'

Looking sharp (and grey)

Rendered out all boring like.

Rendered out all boring like, and to the side.

Rendered out all boring like, and under the nose.

I think it turned out alright, I want to go back and re-tweak a bunch of the topology to be more suitable for rigging/animating, but it kind of looks like the character it's supposed to, so it's a start.

Illustrator Inking

I've always had sort of a hate-hate relationship with Illustrator, it seemed to be much less suited for free form drawing and coloring and stuff than Flash to me.

The other day though, when doing some inking in Flash, I became frustrated with how unrefined the brush tool could be when quickly laying down some lines, so I decided to give Illustrator another chance to be a part of my workflow.
After some tweaking and acclimating, I actually got some good results out of it! I'm actually excited for how well it allows me to produce some good weighted strokes.
Here are some rough things I've done tooling around in it:

'Guy in Tank(top)'

'Swimmer'

'Boy and Hog'

'Magical Me'

It's been a while since I've been doing vector line art, So I'm still getting back in the groove of things to be sure.

This is all.

'Zooom'

MSPain

So I've been out of school and jobless for a couple of months now. I've been devoting so much time trying to find somewhere to work that I forgot how good it feels to create something other than a e-mail.
Today I felt like it had been too long since I fired up MSPaint, so I put on some jams and got to some digital arts!
Enjoy the results please.

Optimism it would seem.

Here we can see apartment fever in full effect.

Tiny people, with little guns.

And they say lightning never strikes twice in a row.

Oh no!

Please hold, a customer support clown will be with you shortly.

I'm on the outside looking in.

Johnny was bad.

An odd couple.

This one makes my eyes vibrate in their sockets.

The purfect system.

And that's it for today. Maybe soon I'll load up some flash for some crazy vector fun!
